What the app collects

Nothing. The app is built without the Android INTERNET permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere, to us or to anyone else.

There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits that report on how you play.

What the app keeps, and where

Dash & Block saves a few things so that closing it and opening it again does not throw your game away: the round in progress, each player's name and chosen pawn colour, the board's colour and its size, how many rounds each player has won, which side opens next, whether a side is being played by the computer and how hard it tries, and whether sound, vibration and the dark theme are on.

All of it is written to the app's own private storage on your device. None of it leaves the phone, and uninstalling the app deletes it.

Permissions

Dash & Block requests one Android permission, VIBRATE, which lets the phone buzz briefly when a pawn lands or a wall goes down. You can turn vibration off inside the app.

No other permission is requested, and the app has no access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files or network.

Playing it in a browser

Everything above describes the Android app, which is what the Play listing links this page from. The same game also runs in a browser on shivom.me, and that version is a web page: it has to be fetched over the network, so whoever serves it records the ordinary things any web server records, such as your IP address and which files were asked for. That is the page being delivered to you, not the game watching you play.

The game itself still collects nothing and sends nothing back. Your names, your colours, the board and the score are kept in your browser's own storage on your device, the same way they are kept in the app's private storage on a phone. Nothing is sent anywhere, and clearing the site's browsing data removes them.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Google Play

Google Play collects its own data about installs, independently of this app. That is covered by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, not by this one.

Changes and contact

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new date above.
